New team members of the ECMI have traveled from various parts of the world to work with us in Flensburg. The new team members will work on new project and research initiatives as well as continuing the work of the ECMI within various clusters.
Meet our new team members:
Dr. Sergiusz Bober, from Poland, is the new head of the Research Cluster Politics and Civil Society. His research interests primarily include European studies, Philosophy of Politics, Nationalism, Federalism and Regionalism. Sergiusz’s methodological approach focuses on legal analysis, qualitative research, comparative methods including comparative constitutionalism, and discourse analysis. Dr. Ljubica Đorđević-Vidojković, from Serbia, will head up the Research Cluster Justice and Governance. Her main research interests focus on European legal frameworks on national minority rights, in general, and on language rights, participation of national minorities in public affairs, justiciability of national minority rights, and anti-discrimination in particular. Aziz Berdiqulov is from Tajikistan, and first got to know to the ECMI’s work through his internship here last year as part of the IFA CrossCulture Program. Aziz will be working as a Project Assistant with the Minority Map and Timeline of Europe (MMTE). Read more and contact Aziz here.
Dr. Anita McKinna comes from Australia, however she moved to Flensburg from Kosovo where she has worked for last few years at the OSCE Mission. Her research interests include reconciliation and inter-ethnic dialogue in post-conflict societies, as well as the link between the broader protection of minority rights and security issues regarding minorities.
