3 Responses to Armenia and Azerbaijan to be included in media digest

  1. The inclusion of Nagorno-Karabakh as another entity along with Armenia and Azerbaijan in the ECMI digest is contrary to any logical reasoning. Firstly, because Armenians have their own statehood, the Republic of Armenia and, unlike Abkhazians and Ossetians, they are not a minority in the South Caucasus. Secondly, in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan there are also no minorities left, they were all ethnically cleansed, just as they were marginalized and eliminated in the mono-ethnic Armenia. So the addition of Nagorno-Karabakh would only irritate and distance Azerbaijanis and contribute to the failure of ECMI initiative.

  2. Emin Mammadov says:

As you hopefully noted, Nagorno-Karabakh is a part of Azerbaijan that was OCCUPIED by Armenia and is not recognized by international society. This conflict created 600,000 Azerbaijani Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who have not yet been able to return to their homes in lands the U.N. asserts are occupied by Armenian forces.
    Best regards,
    Emin Mammadov.
