The Equal Rights for All Coalition (ERAC), a recent initiative of the ECMI Kosovo, brings together seven NGOs that work in the domain of rule of law and fundamental rights, with a particular focus on the establishment of a sustainable network of civil society organizations that are active in the protection and promotion of the fundamental rights of vulnerable and marginalized groups.

ERAC aims to cooperate with the government at the central and local level to address shortcomings in the existing institutional mechanisms for the protection, promotion, and enforcement of fundamental human rights, and for the reporting on and remedying of infringements on these rights.

The Coalition will organize its activities around a number of fundamental rights that have been identified by the Coalition partners and international actors as particularly problematic for VMGs, which are as follows:

  1. Equality before the law; the right to a fair and impartial trial; the right to legal remedy
  2. The right to liberty and security
  3. Freedom of expression; the right to access of public documents; freedom of media
  4. The right to education
  5. The right to work and exercise one’s profession
  6. Health and social protection

The activities will include establishing and managing networks, providing case-to-case assistance to members of the vulnerable and marginalized groups, the development and communication of recommendations for policy- and decision-making based on policy research and monitoring, capacity-building, and public awareness campaigns.
