Call for Applications: Two months paid internship at the European Centre for Minority Issues

ECMI Announcements - European Centre for Minority IssuesEuropean Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI) is looking to nominate a candidate of Romani background for two months paid internship at its headquarters in Flensburg, Germany.

The internship will take place in the framework of the programme Supporting Roma in Academia, organised and financed by the European Academic Network on Romani Studies.

The recruitment process:

The internship is opened to MA and PhD students and graduates of Romani background*, up to five years after completion of studies. Applicants should have good English language skills.

To apply for the nomination, please send an updated CV, a statement of intent containing a research plan (maximum 500 words), and a letter explaining benefits from the internship (maximum 500 words) to carstocea@ecmi.de

After having been selected as a nominee, the successful candidate will be asked to provide an academic reference from a full member of the European Academic Network on Romani Studies. A list of members is available online

‘Romani background’ will be determined on the basis of applicants’ self-declaration and the Network member´s statement regarding the candidate’s Romani background.

The internship will have duration of maximum two months and must take place before June 2013. Travel to and from ECMI, accommodation, and subsistence costs will be covered, up to a total amount of € 3,000.

The application deadline for an ECMI nomination is 18 November 2012.
